CLEVELAND, Ohio – The first light glimmers off car roofs dusted in white as a crisp frost coats lawns and gardens across northeast Ohio. The chill feels sharper near Lake Erie’s shore, where calm air and clear skies overnight let temperatures tumble into the upper 20s and low 30s — enough to trigger a Frost Advisory until 9 a.m. Monday.

According to the National Weather Service in Cleveland, the advisory covers Cuyahoga, Ashtabula, and Lake Counties in Ohio, as well as Erie County, Pennsylvania. Sensitive plants and late-season gardens may be damaged if left uncovered. The air will warm quickly by midmorning, with sunshine returning and highs near 59 degrees.

Tuesday remains pleasant and dry, with highs in the upper 50s under mostly sunny skies. Clouds increase late Tuesday night ahead of an approaching cold front expected to bring widespread rain Wednesday and Wednesday night. Winds off the lake could gust 15 to 25 mph, making Wednesday feel brisk and unsettled. Rain chances climb to 70–80% across the metro, with totals between a quarter and half an inch.

By Thursday, conditions improve as cooler, drier air settles in. Highs hold near 52 degrees before another system brushes the region Friday night. Trick-or-treat weather across greater Cleveland looks mild and calm, with clear skies and temperatures in the low 50s by sunset.

Models hint at a chillier November start next week — a sign that early winter patterns may soon strengthen over the Great Lakes.
