Wilmington, OH – Dense fog is creating hazardous travel conditions across Ohio this morning, with visibility reduced to less than a quarter mile. Commuters along major routes like I-71 and I-75 are urged to exercise caution during the Wednesday morning rush.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Wilmington, a Dense Fog Advisory remains in effect until 9 a.m. Winds are expected to strengthen this afternoon, with gusts up to 40 mph as a cold front moves through the area. By Thursday, a low-pressure system will bring colder temperatures and accumulating snow, with up to 1-2 inches expected in some areas, particularly during the evening hours.

Travel could become difficult Thursday night, especially on untreated roads. Motorists are advised to allow extra time for travel, use low beams in fog, and avoid speeding. Local officials also recommend preparing for icy conditions as temperatures drop into the mid-20s overnight.

The extended forecast shows snow showers likely on Friday, transitioning to rain by midday. Highs will remain in the mid-30s to low-40s through the weekend, with mostly cloudy skies dominating Saturday. Slight clearing is anticipated Sunday as temperatures climb into the 50s.
