Columbus, Ohio – Cooler-than-normal temperatures will linger across much of southern and central Ohio through at least midweek, with scattered showers expected to return by Monday night.
According to the National Weather Service in Wilmington, high temperatures across cities like Columbus, Dayton, and Cincinnati will remain in the low to mid-60s through Tuesday, several degrees below average for late May. Overnight lows could dip into the 40s, with some pockets near 40°F Sunday and Monday mornings.
Chillicothe, Circleville, and Springfield will also experience a prolonged cool stretch, with little to no warming trend through the end of next week. The region will see some sunshine this weekend, but cloud cover and spotty showers will increase starting late Monday into Wednesday.
Residents should prepare for damp commutes and cooler mornings by dressing in layers and checking for any changing road conditions, especially early in the day. No significant warm-up is expected through the end of May, and no heat alerts are anticipated.
Showers may persist through midweek, with updated forecasts and advisories likely as the pattern evolves.
