Columbus, Ohio – A dry, sunny Friday across central Ohio will give way to unsettled weather overnight, with rain and gusty winds creating travel concerns. Drivers on I-70 and I-71 should prepare for slick roads and limited visibility after dark.

According to the National Weather Service in Wilmington, a band of showers will move into Franklin County after 8 p.m. Friday. Winds may gust near 29 mph, and rain could reduce visibility, especially on highways. Rainfall will be light but steady, with up to a tenth of an inch possible.

Saturday morning starts damp, but conditions improve quickly. Clouds clear by afternoon, leaving a comfortable high near 72 degrees. Families heading to football games or outdoor events can expect dry skies by late day.

Sunday delivers the best weather of the weekend, with mostly sunny skies and highs around 71. Light winds and cool evening lows near 46 make for crisp, fall-like air. Monday turns warmer with sunshine and highs reaching the mid-70s.

Residents are urged to use caution during Friday night’s showers. Allow extra travel time, secure outdoor items that could blow in gusty winds, and keep headlights on for visibility.

Clearer skies dominate much of next week, but temperatures fluctuate as fall continues its slow arrival. Another round of unsettled weather may return by midweek.

Warnings remain possible if winds strengthen or rainfall increases overnight.
