CLEVELAND, Ohio – Warm sunshine and calm skies will make way for a wet and windy weekend across northern Ohio. Residents and travelers along I-90 and the Lake Erie shoreline should prepare for multiple rounds of rain and gusty winds beginning late Saturday.

The National Weather Service in Cleveland reports that Thursday and Friday will stay mostly dry, offering a pleasant lead-up to the weekend. Highs will climb into the upper 70s Friday, perfect for fall leaf viewing or evening events across the metro area. However, changes begin late Friday, when scattered showers develop ahead of a stronger cold front moving in from the west.

Saturday brings partly sunny skies early, but rain chances rise sharply by afternoon. Thunderstorms are possible after 8 p.m., bringing localized downpours and winds near 30 mph. Outdoor gatherings or fall festivals should have a rain plan in place. The front will move east Saturday night, keeping rain and breezy conditions in the region through Sunday morning.

Sunday will stay windy and cooler, with highs around 69°F and another 70% chance of showers. Winds along the lakeshore may cause choppy waves and minor visibility issues for boaters.

By Monday, skies begin to clear as cooler, stable air returns. Expect highs near 61°F Monday and sunny conditions by Tuesday—ideal for late-season yard work or Halloween decorating.
