CINCINNATI, Ohio – Drivers across southwest Ohio faced dense fog early Monday, but brighter skies and rising temperatures will take over by midmorning. Visibility dropped to six miles in spots around Cincinnati Municipal Lunken Airport, slowing traffic along I-71 and I-75. Motorists should remain cautious until fog lifts, especially during the morning commute.

According to the National Weather Service in Wilmington, skies will turn sunny with highs near 88 Monday afternoon. Light east winds will hold steady at 5 mph. Clear nights and warm afternoons will continue Tuesday, with temperatures climbing into the mid-80s before shifting cooler as October begins Wednesday.

Cincinnati and surrounding Hamilton County can expect sunny conditions through Wednesday, when highs ease into the lower 80s. Northeast winds will strengthen slightly, giving a refreshing fall feel to the air. By Thursday, readings settle near 80, with partly cloudy skies at night. Friday holds steady with more sunshine and highs near 80, providing ideal conditions for outdoor plans and early fall festivals across southern Ohio.

Residents are urged to stay hydrated during the warm afternoons, as temperatures will remain above seasonal averages until late week. Drivers should also account for reduced visibility from early morning fog, especially along low-lying routes near the Ohio River.

The warm, dry stretch extends into the weekend, offering a stable start to October. No watches or warnings are expected at this time, but updates will continue as the month progresses.
