Columbus, OH – Unseasonably warm and dry weather will linger across Ohio to start the week, with temperatures holding in the 80s through Monday.
According to the National Weather Service in Wilmington, high pressure is driving the above-normal temperatures and clear skies. Forecast highs Sunday range from 85°F in Versailles and Kenton to 89°F in Dayton. Columbus, Cincinnati, and surrounding areas are expected to reach 88°F.
By Monday, temperatures will dip slightly but remain well above seasonal averages. Highs are projected around 86–88°F across Dayton, Cincinnati, and Columbus, with mid-80s across much of central and southern Ohio.
The dry stretch is expected to persist into early next week, continuing a run of rain-free days for much of the state. While the conditions may benefit outdoor plans, the lack of rainfall could impact soil moisture levels heading into October.
Travelers and residents are encouraged to take advantage of the dry spell but remain mindful of the elevated fire danger that sometimes accompanies prolonged dry and warm weather.
