Cleveland, Ohio – Temperatures are set to swing sharply across northern Ohio, with a warm-up into the 60s and low 70s this weekend before a strong cold front triggers a rapid cooldown by Sunday night.

According to the National Weather Service in Cleveland, highs will steadily climb through Saturday and peak Sunday, with many areas including Cleveland, Akron, and Toledo reaching the upper 60s to near 70 degrees. This warming trend will be short-lived as a strong cold front moves through late Sunday.

The front is expected to bring gusty winds and a sharp temperature drop, with highs falling back into the 40s by Monday across much of northeast Ohio. Cities along the Lake Erie shoreline, including Ashtabula and Sandusky, may feel the temperature change even more quickly due to onshore winds.

Drivers should prepare for changing conditions Sunday, especially on elevated roadways and along I-90, where gusty winds could impact travel. Residents are encouraged to secure loose outdoor items ahead of the front’s arrival.

The cooler pattern will persist into early next week, with additional temperature swings possible. More updates are expected as the timing and strength of Sunday’s cold front become clearer.
