Warren, OH – A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for Trumbull County from 1 p.m. Thursday through 7 p.m. Friday, as lake effect snow and gusty winds are expected to create slippery travel conditions heading into the Thanksgiving holiday weekend.

According to the National Weather Service in Cleveland, total snow accumulations are expected to reach 3 to 5 inches, with the heaviest snow likely in northern Trumbull County. Winds could gust up to 40 mph, leading to areas of blowing snow and reduced visibility on open stretches of roadway.

Forecasters warn that the Thursday evening and Friday morning commutes could be particularly hazardous, with slick roads and slower travel times expected. Drivers should use extra caution, especially on bridges and overpasses, which may ice up quickly.

Officials with the Ohio Department of Transportation and Ohio Turnpike and Infrastructure Commission are urging motorists to delay unnecessary travel and check ohgo.com for the latest road conditions and closures.

Conditions are expected to improve Friday night as snow showers taper and winds gradually subside.
