Cleveland, Ohio – Wind gusts up to 50 mph will continue across northern Ohio through 7 p.m. EST, increasing the risk of downed tree limbs and isolated power outages during the evening commute.

According to the National Weather Service in Cleveland, a Wind Advisory remains in effect until 7 p.m. for portions of northwest, north central and northeast Ohio. Southwest to west winds of 20 to 30 mph will produce peak gusts near 50 mph.

Loose outdoor objects may be blown around.

Drivers along Interstate 90 from Toledo through Cleveland and Interstate 75 near Findlay and Bowling Green could encounter strong crosswinds, especially on bridges and open stretches. Travel near the Lake Erie shoreline, including Lorain, Sandusky and Ashtabula, may be particularly difficult for high-profile vehicles.

Tree limbs could snap under stronger gusts, leading to scattered power outages across Cuyahoga, Lucas and Lake counties.

Motorists should use extra caution, keep both hands on the wheel and secure outdoor items immediately.

Winds gradually diminish after sunset. The Wind Advisory remains in effect until 7 p.m. EST this evening.
