Cincinnati, Ohio – Much of the Ohio Valley remains locked in a dry stretch, with little to no rainfall expected across the region through next week. While a cold front Thursday may bring scattered showers to northern Ohio, Indiana, and into western Pennsylvania, the majority of the valley will continue to see dry skies.
According to the National Weather Service Ohio River Forecast Center, precipitation totals across the region have been minimal over the past week, with some areas recording less than half an inch. Forecast maps show the upcoming front delivering limited rainfall north of Interstate 70, while cities further south, including Louisville, Lexington, and Cincinnati, are likely to miss out on measurable precipitation.
Dry conditions may impact agriculture and water levels, with farmers in central Kentucky and southern Ohio urged to monitor soil moisture closely. Residents are also advised to avoid outdoor burning due to the elevated fire risk tied to the extended lack of rain.
The Ohio River Forecast Center notes that most of the valley should expect this dry trend to hold at least into midweek, with only northern portions of the region seeing occasional relief from passing showers.
