Cincinnati, OH – The National Weather Service in Wilmington has issued a Frost Advisory in effect from midnight tonight until 10 a.m. EDT Saturday, as temperatures are forecast to fall to around 34 degrees across southwest Ohio, southeast Indiana, and northern Kentucky.
The advisory includes Hamilton, Clermont, and Brown counties in Ohio, Franklin, Ripley, Dearborn, Ohio, and Switzerland counties in Indiana, and Boone, Kenton, Campbell, Grant, Mason, and Lewis counties in Kentucky, along with surrounding areas.
According to the NWS, frost formation could harm or kill sensitive outdoor vegetation if left uncovered. Residents are urged to bring in potted plants, cover crops or flowers, and protect exposed plumbing before midnight.
This will likely be the first widespread frost event of the season for the Cincinnati tri-state area, especially in rural and low-lying communities, where temperatures could briefly touch the freezing mark.
Conditions will warm by mid-morning Saturday, ending the frost threat, but the chill marks a seasonal turning point for gardeners and growers.
