Cincinnati, Ohio – A slow-moving low-pressure system will drench the Ohio Valley this weekend, delivering steady rainfall across much of the region. The National Weather Service says most areas can expect around 1 to 1.25 inches of rain, but localized pockets in southern Ohio, western Kentucky, and southern Indiana could exceed 2 inches by Sunday night.
According to the Ohio River Forecast Center, no major river flooding is anticipated, but flash flooding could develop in low-lying or poorly drained areas, particularly where heavier rain bands persist. Forecasters note the heaviest rainfall is likely Saturday night through early Sunday.
Residents in Cincinnati, Louisville, and Evansville should monitor storm drains and avoid driving through flooded roadways. Urban and rural flash flooding could be the primary hazard, especially in areas that have seen recent rainfall.
While the system will exit by late Sunday, cooler, drier air will return early next week, bringing brief relief before another round of unsettled weather midweek.
