Ohio Valley – Warm spring temperatures will dominate the early week before severe weather moves into the region by Friday. Residents in Ohio and Kentucky should prepare for increasing rain chances, gusty winds, and possible thunderstorms as the workweek ends.
According to the National Weather Service, sunny skies will continue through midweek, with temperatures reaching the upper 60s and low 70s across the region. However, by Thursday night, a storm system is expected to develop, bringing showers and possible thunderstorms. Friday’s forecast indicates a 60-70% chance of rain, with wind gusts exceeding 25 mph in some areas.
Cincinnati, Louisville, and Paducah are among the cities likely to experience strong storms. Motorists traveling along I-75 and I-64 should prepare for wet roads and reduced visibility. The heaviest rainfall is projected to occur late Friday into early Saturday, with potential flash flooding in low-lying areas.
Looking ahead, the weekend will bring cooler temperatures, with highs dropping to the mid-50s by Sunday. While Saturday may still see lingering showers, conditions should improve by Sunday afternoon.
Residents are advised to stay updated on weather alerts and secure outdoor furniture before the storms arrive. If thunderstorms intensify, seek shelter indoors and avoid unnecessary travel.
