Indiana, Ohio, and Kentucky – A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect early Friday across portions of the Ohio Valley, while a Winter Storm Watch is posted for the same region this weekend.

According to the National Weather Service in Wilmington, up to one inch of additional snow is possible through 10 a.m. EST Friday, with slick road conditions affecting the morning commute. The advisory spans east central and southeast Indiana, northern Kentucky, and south central and southwest Ohio.

Counties under the advisory include Fayette, Union, Franklin, Ripley, and Dearborn in Indiana; Boone, Kenton, and Campbell in Kentucky; and Butler, Warren, Clinton, Ross, Hamilton, Clermont, Brown, Highland, Adams, Pike, and Scioto counties in Ohio. Cities affected include Cincinnati, Dayton, Hamilton, Middletown, Wilmington, Chillicothe, Portsmouth, Covington, Florence, and Lawrenceburg.

Following the advisory, a Winter Storm Watch is in effect from Saturday morning through Sunday morning, with 3 to 5 inches of snow possible if a stronger system develops. Forecasters say confidence is increasing in widespread accumulating snow, though exact amounts and placement remain uncertain.

The National Weather Service warns that travel could become very difficult if heavier snow materializes, with impacts possible across interstates, secondary roads, bridges, and overpasses. Residents planning weekend travel should be prepared for changing road conditions.

Motorists are urged to monitor forecast updates closely, consider adjusting travel plans, and ensure vehicles are stocked with winter emergency supplies. Road conditions can be checked at 511in.org (Indiana), ohgo.com (Ohio), and goky.ky.gov (Kentucky).
