Wilmington, Ohio – Mild temperatures are expected to persist across the Ohio Valley through the weekend, before a cold front brings much colder conditions heading into next week.

According to the National Weather Service in Wilmington, temperatures will remain well above normal through Sunday across much of southwest and central Ohio, northern Kentucky, and eastern Indiana. High temperatures Thursday and Friday are forecast to reach the upper 40s to lower 60s, depending on location.

Forecasters say light rain is expected Friday, though rainfall amounts are expected to remain minimal. Conditions will stay relatively mild through Saturday, with no significant winter weather impacts anticipated.

By Sunday, weather conditions are expected to become more unsettled. The National Weather Service reports windy and rainy weather Sunday, as a cold front moves through the Ohio Valley Sunday night into Monday morning.

Behind the front, much colder temperatures are expected to arrive for next week, marking a notable shift from the recent mild pattern. The NWS notes that colder conditions will persist into early next week following the frontal passage.

Residents across the Ohio Valley are encouraged to enjoy the mild conditions while they last and prepare for a return to colder, more seasonable winter weather after the weekend.
