Heavy rainfall is forecasted for the Ohio Valley starting Tuesday night as the remnants of tropical system Beryl move northeastward. This weather system is expected to impact the region significantly through Wednesday.

According to the US National Weather Service Chicago, scattered showers and thunderstorms are possible on Monday afternoon, with temperatures between 82 and 88 degrees. The rain threat will increase by Tuesday afternoon, especially around the I-80 corridor, with temperatures ranging from 78 to 84 degrees. By Wednesday, heavy rain is anticipated to affect areas southeast of I-55, with temperatures between 74 and 80 degrees.

The remnants of Beryl will pass through the Ohio Valley, with the northern edge of the system clipping the local area and favoring regions south of the Kankakee River Valley. There is a potential for significant rainfall and flooding, particularly along and southeast of a Paxton, IL to Rensselaer, IN line.
