According to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, the crash occurred at approximately 12:13 a.m. along Winchester Pike just south of Bixby Road. A white 2019 Chevrolet Tahoe, traveling eastbound, left the roadway, continued through a field, rolled, and came to rest upright on the roadside near a telephone pole. The vehicle was discovered facing north on the south side of the road.

Deputies from the Sheriff’s Office, officers from the Columbus Division of Police and Madison Township Police, and emergency medics responded to the scene. The driver—identified as the vehicle’s sole occupant—had been ejected and was found near the roadway. Responders performed CPR until medics from Madison Township arrived and pronounced the individual dead at 12:17 a.m.

Authorities reported that the Tahoe had recently been reported stolen out of the Columbus/Canal Winchester area. The identity of the deceased has not been released pending notification of family.
