Walnut Township, OH – A 71-year-old Ashville man died after a tractor collided with a car at a Walnut Township intersection Tuesday afternoon.
According to the Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded around 1:44 p.m. to a crash at Walnut Creek Pike and Hagerty Road. Investigators said Roger L. Diehl was driving a New Holland Tractor TC40D eastbound on Hagerty Road when he stopped, then pulled into the path of a southbound 2006 Nissan driven by Genevieve McIntyre.
McIntyre was transported by Harrison Township EMS to Ohio Health Berger Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Sheriff’s officials said Diehl was taken to Grant Medical Center in Columbus by Circleville EMS, where he later died from injuries sustained in the crash.
Emergency crews from Harrison Township Fire and EMS, Circleville Fire and EMS, the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, and the Pickaway County Engineer’s Office assisted at the scene. Sheriff Matthew O. Hafey thanked the responding agencies for their work.
