According to the Darke County Sheriff’s Office, deputies and multiple rescue units responded around 6:56 p.m. to the intersection of U.S. Route 127 and State Route 705. The incident involved a Black 2014 Jeep Patriot driven by James Head, 47, of Ft. Recovery, and a light blue 2010 Chrysler Pacifica driven by Melvin Potter, 63, of Versailles.

Investigators said Head was traveling west on State Route 705 when he allegedly failed to yield at a stop sign to Potter, who was traveling south on U.S. 127. The vehicles collided in the intersection, resulting in multiple injuries.

Officials reported that Potter’s passengers, Lori Potter, 63, of Versailles, and a juvenile were transported to Coldwater Hospital for treatment. Head was also taken to Coldwater Hospital. Authorities stated all injuries were non-life-threatening.

The crash remains under investigation by the Darke County Sheriff’s Office.
