Wilmington, OH – A strong cold front will move through southern and central Ohio late Tuesday night into Wednesday morning, bringing a quick shift from mild and wet conditions to much colder, windier weather, according to the National Weather Service in Wilmington.
Forecasters say rain will persist through Tuesday morning, tapering to drizzle by early afternoon. Rainfall totals between 0.25 and 0.5 inches are expected before skies begin to clear.
By Wednesday, temperatures will fall sharply — from morning highs in the 40s and 50s to the upper 30s by late day. Northwest winds will strengthen, with gusts of 35–45 mph likely, especially in exposed areas and along interstates.
The NWS warns that these gusty winds, combined with falling temperatures, could make for hazardous driving conditions and post-rain slick roads ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday.
Travelers should secure outdoor items, plan for longer travel times, and check updated forecasts before heading out.
