Cleveland, Ohio – Wind gusts could hit 45 mph in parts of northern Ohio by this afternoon, followed by a sharp shift toward stormier spring weather to close out the week. Drivers and residents near I-90 and I-271 should prepare now for possible Friday travel disruptions.

According to the National Weather Service in Cleveland, west to southwest winds will pick up through Tuesday, with peak gusts ranging from 35 to 45 mph. A few isolated spots could see bursts nearing 50 mph. By Thursday night, a strong low-pressure system brings a 30% chance of rain, with the risk escalating to 80% Friday into Friday night.

Friday could be the wettest day of the week, with widespread showers and embedded thunderstorms expected to roll in from the west. Thunder activity may develop after 2 a.m. Friday night, pushing into Saturday morning. Rain could impact morning commutes and local events.
