Cleveland, OH – After a mild start to the week, northern Ohio will face a dramatic shift as strong winds and snow arrive Wednesday night. The National Weather Service warns that a low-pressure system moving through the Great Lakes will bring gusts over 40 mph and a mix of rain and snow to Cleveland and surrounding areas.

According to the National Weather Service, showers will develop Wednesday afternoon, followed by heavier rain transitioning into snow overnight. Winds from the southwest will reach 17-23 mph, with gusts up to 39 mph. Snow accumulation will remain minimal in Cleveland but could be higher in areas east of the city, especially in the Snowbelt regions near I-90.

By Thursday morning, precipitation is expected to turn fully to snow, with continued gusty winds making travel difficult. Drivers on major highways, including I-90 and I-71, should prepare for reduced visibility and slippery conditions.
