Wilmington, OH – A significant winter storm is forecasted to bring heavy snowfall and icy conditions to portions of southeast Indiana, northern Kentucky, and southwest Ohio beginning Sunday morning.
According to the National Weather Service (NWS), the storm is expected to start at 10 a.m. Sunday and persist through midnight Monday, with total snow accumulations ranging between 5 and 9 inches. Ice accumulations up to one-tenth of an inch are also likely in some areas. The affected regions include Cincinnati, Dayton, Chillicothe, and surrounding areas.
The NWS warns that hazardous travel conditions are anticipated, particularly during Monday’s morning and evening commutes. Snowfall rates could reduce visibility, and icy roads may increase the risk of accidents. Authorities advise carrying emergency supplies, such as food, water, and flashlights, for those who must travel.
Road condition updates will be available via ohgo.com for Ohio and 511in.org for Indiana. Motorists are encouraged to delay non-essential travel until after the storm has passed.
