Troy, OH – The Miami County Sheriff’s Office completed its 13th annual address verification operation this week, confirming the locations of all registered sex, violent, and arson offenders across the county.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, the large-scale operation took place on October 23, 2025, and involved 31 local, state, and federal agencies, including the U.S. Marshals Office, Ohio State Highway Patrol, and several local police departments.

At the start of the sweep, 166 offenders were registered in Miami County. Law enforcement teams verified 107 addresses, while three individuals are now under investigation for possible non-compliance. No arrests or seizures were made during the operation.

Sheriff Dave Duchak said this effort ensures public safety and compliance with Ohio law, which requires registered offenders to report current residential addresses to county authorities. Deputies will continue quarterly random checks, and remaining addresses will be reviewed before the year’s end.

Earlier this year, 10 potential non-compliance cases were investigated—four were confirmed, two led to prison sentences, two were unfounded, and one offender was found deceased.

Sheriff Duchak expressed appreciation to all participating agencies, noting that the sweep “would not be possible without their support and assistance.”
