Cleveland, OH – A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect for northeast Ohio and northwestern Pennsylvania as lake effect snow showers continue to impact the region through Thursday night into early Friday, creating slick roads and low visibility during commutes.

According to the National Weather Service in Cleveland, the advisory includes Ashtabula Inland, Geauga, and Crawford Counties, where 1 to 5 inches of additional snow are expected — with locally higher totals possible across northeastern Crawford County and elevated terrain in Geauga County.

Forecasters report gusty winds up to 30 mph and temperatures dropping to near 20°F, which will allow wet snow or slush to freeze overnight, making roads, bridges, and overpasses hazardous.

The Thursday morning and evening commutes are expected to be impacted by snow-covered roads and patchy ice, especially along rural highways and secondary roads.

Officials urge residents to slow down, allow extra travel time, and check 511PA.com or OHGO.com for real-time travel and road condition updates.

Snow showers are expected to gradually diminish by Friday morning, though cold temperatures will keep some slick spots into the weekend.
