Akron, Ohio – Wind gusts up to 50 mph will continue across northeast Ohio and northwest Pennsylvania through 7 p.m. EST, creating hazardous travel and the risk of scattered power outages.

According to the National Weather Service in Cleveland, a Wind Advisory remains in effect until 7 p.m. for Geauga, Summit, Portage, Trumbull, Stark, Mahoning, Wayne, Holmes and Knox counties in Ohio, along with Crawford and southern Erie counties in Pennsylvania.

Loose outdoor objects may be blown around.

Drivers on Interstate 76 near Akron, Interstate 77 through Canton and Interstate 80 near Youngstown and Meadville could encounter strong crosswinds, especially on elevated roadways and open stretches. High-profile vehicles will be most affected.

Tree limbs may snap under stronger gusts, leading to isolated outages in communities including Warren, Ravenna, Wooster and Titusville.

Travel may become difficult on north-south roads.

Residents should secure outdoor items and use extra caution while driving through early evening.

Winds gradually diminish after sunset. The Wind Advisory remains in effect until 7 p.m. EST tonight.
