Ohio–Pennsylvania – Lake effect snow continues to impact communities along the Lake Erie snowbelt Friday, prompting winter weather advisories for parts of northeast Ohio and northwest Pennsylvania.

According to the National Weather Service in Cleveland, a Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 1 p.m. EST Friday for Ashtabula County, Ohio, including both inland and lakeshore areas. An additional advisory continues until 4 p.m. EST Friday for Crawford County, Pennsylvania.

Forecasters expect additional snow accumulations of 1 to 4 inches in both advisory areas. In Ashtabula County, the heaviest snow is forecast through daybreak Friday, with snowfall rates up to one inch per hour at times. The northern half of the county is expected to see the greatest accumulations.

In Crawford County, lake effect snow is expected to continue through Friday morning, with the northern third of the county most likely to receive the highest totals. Snow may briefly diminish later today before returning again late tonight.

Officials warn that slippery road conditions are likely, especially on untreated roads, bridges, and overpasses. The hazardous conditions could impact the Friday morning commute, with localized reductions in visibility under heavier snow bands.

Transportation officials in both states urge drivers to slow down, delay unnecessary travel, and monitor roadway conditions. Travelers can check the latest conditions at ohgo.com in Ohio and 511pa.com in Pennsylvania.

For commuters, students, and early-shift workers across the Lake Erie snowbelt, the advisories signal continued winter travel hazards into the afternoon hours.
