Pittsburgh, PA – The National Weather Service in Pittsburgh reports that a weak low-pressure system will bring light snow to western Pennsylvania on Sunday afternoon, with the highest totals near the I-80 corridor and ridges to the east.

Forecasters expect less than an inch of accumulation for most areas, though up to one inch is possible north and east of Pittsburgh. The system is expected to move through quickly, with little to no impact for the majority of the metro area.

Snow will begin during the afternoon hours Sunday, mainly affecting Greenville, Oil City, Dubois, and Clarion, before tapering off overnight. South of I-80, areas such as Washington, Uniontown, and Wheeling may only see flurries or a dusting.

Drivers should remain cautious on bridges and untreated roads, where brief slick spots may develop during heavier bursts of snow.

No additional precipitation is forecast through early next week, and temperatures will remain near seasonal averages.
