Ohio – Wind pushes off Lake Erie and rattles loose branches across Cleveland this afternoon, while light rain keeps roads damp and visibility uneven. Drivers are already noticing slick pavement and sudden gusts.

According to the National Weather Service, southwest wind gusts up to 45 mph are possible, with isolated gusts nearing 50 mph. These winds may blow around unsecured objects and create brief difficult driving conditions, especially for high-profile vehicles.

Across Cuyahoga County and into northeast Ohio, travel along I-90, I-71, and I-480 could be impacted through the afternoon. Expect sudden crosswinds on bridges and open stretches. Keep both hands on the wheel and allow extra space between vehicles.

Rain chances continue to increase into Tuesday, with showers likely and a 60 percent chance of precipitation. By Tuesday night, that number climbs to 70 percent, and stronger storms may develop. Some storms could bring damaging wind gusts and hail, especially across northern Ohio.

The pattern turns more active by Wednesday, where rain chances peak near 80 percent. Showers may fall in multiple rounds, creating ponding on roads and slower commutes during peak hours. Conditions stay unsettled into Thursday with another 60 percent chance of rain.

Meteorologists are tracking this multi-day stretch closely as moisture continues to feed into the region. While today’s impacts center on wind, the midweek concern shifts toward heavier rain and stronger storms.
