Ohio – A warm breeze sweeps through central Ohio this morning, rustling bare tree branches and pushing clouds across the Columbus skyline. Temperatures are climbing quickly toward 72°F, but a powerful wind event is already building across the region.

Skies start partly sunny, though gusts will steadily strengthen through the day. Loose outdoor items may shift as winds increase across Franklin County and surrounding communities.

According to the National Weather Service in Wilmington, a Wind Advisory remains in effect from 11 a.m. through early Monday morning. South winds between 20 and 30 mph could produce gusts up to 45 mph, especially across central Ohio, northern Kentucky, and southeast Indiana.

Drivers along I-70, I-71, and I-270 around Columbus should prepare for strong crosswinds by afternoon. High-profile vehicles will feel the strongest impacts, particularly on exposed overpasses and open highway stretches.

Storm chances increase later as moisture pushes north. Rain and thunderstorms may develop toward the early morning hours, and a few storms could become strong. Meteorologists say damaging winds are the primary threat, though an isolated tornado cannot be ruled out.

The weather pattern flips quickly after the front passes. Temperatures drop sharply Monday as rain gradually mixes with snow showers across central Ohio.

By St. Patrick’s Day Tuesday, the air turns noticeably colder with highs near 30°F under mostly cloudy skies. Winds remain brisk, and any lingering moisture could freeze on untreated roads and bridges.

Midweek brings another brief snow chance Wednesday before temperatures recover later in the week. Highs climb back toward the upper 50s by Thursday, signaling a gradual return of early spring warmth.
