CINCINNATI, Ohio – A gray, misty blanket hangs low over the Ohio River this morning as fog grips the Tri-State. Drivers from Hamilton to Florence and east toward Batavia are urged to slow down and use headlights—visibility has dropped below a mile in many valleys and river corridors.

According to the National Weather Service in Wilmington, a Special Weather Statement remains in effect for parts of southwest Ohio and northern Kentucky, including Butler, Clermont, Warren, and Boone counties. The fog should lift by midmorning as sunshine returns, bringing a calm, seasonably mild day across Greater Cincinnati.

Once the haze clears, the next few days look pleasant and unseasonably warm. Highs will climb into the lower 60s Tuesday and near 68°F by Wednesday, with light south winds. It’s ideal weather for leaf cleanup, early holiday decorating, or travel across I-75 and I-71.

Changes begin Thursday night when clouds increase and a developing front from the Plains moves in. Rain becomes likely by Friday, possibly lingering into early Saturday. Wet roads could slow the end-of-week commute and affect early Veterans Day event setups. After the front passes, temperatures will dip again—reminding residents that November’s colder side isn’t far behind.

For now, enjoy the sunshine once the fog burns off, but stay alert during the morning drive. Keep extra distance between vehicles, use low beams in fog, and allow more time for travel.
