Wilmington, OH – A Dense Fog Advisory remains in effect until 8 a.m. Monday for portions of southern Ohio and northern Kentucky, where visibility has dropped to near a quarter mile or less in many areas, according to the National Weather Service in Wilmington.
Forecasters say the fog has expanded beyond the typical river valleys, blanketing highways and low-lying areas across the region. The advisory includes Chillicothe, Portsmouth, Maysville, and the Cincinnati metro, where early commuters may face significantly reduced visibility and slower travel times.
Motorists are urged to drive cautiously, use low-beam headlights, and allow extra time to reach their destinations. Slick spots are also possible on bridges and overpasses as temperatures hover near the mid-40s.
The fog is expected to gradually lift after sunrise, leading to improved visibility by mid-morning. Conditions should remain dry through the rest of the day with mild temperatures in the 60s.
