Cincinnati, OH – A freeze warning has been issued for portions of Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana, with sub-freezing temperatures expected overnight into Saturday morning. The warning, effective from midnight tonight to 9 a.m. EDT Saturday, is set to impact several counties, including areas such as Cincinnati, Dayton, and Columbus.
According to the National Weather Service, temperatures as low as 28°F are expected, putting crops and sensitive vegetation at risk. Residents in affected areas are advised to take precautions to protect outdoor plants and plumbing. Frost and freeze conditions could potentially damage unprotected outdoor plumbing systems.
The freeze warning covers parts of east central and southeast Indiana, northeast and northern Kentucky, and various regions of Ohio, including southern and southwest counties. This weather event marks a significant shift in the region’s spring temperatures, posing a challenge for gardeners and those with outdoor infrastructure.
As temperatures dip below freezing, the National Weather Service urges individuals to drain in-ground sprinkler systems and cover exposed pipes to prevent costly damage.
