FINDLAY, Ohio — Snow and blowing snow disrupted travel Friday across Interstate 75 from Bowling Green south through Findlay toward Hancock County, where 2 to 3 inches of snow accumulated from the morning commute through 10 p.m. Friday, creating slippery and wind-driven travel conditions across north central and northwest Ohio.

The National Weather Service in Cleveland kept a Winter Weather Advisory in effect through Friday evening for Wood, Sandusky, Hancock, Seneca, Wyandot, Crawford, Marion, Morrow, and Knox counties, warning that wind gusts up to 45 miles per hour would trigger periods of blowing and drifting snow later in the day.

Light to moderate snow coated roads during the morning commute, particularly along United States Route 23, State Route 15, and Interstate 75, slowing traffic through Bowling Green, Findlay, Fostoria, and Tiffin. After a brief afternoon lull, snow showers redeveloped toward evening as temperatures fell, allowing winds to push snow back onto treated roadways.

Travel hazards extended east and south through United States Route 30, where slick conditions hit Bucyrus, Galion, and Crestline, and along United States Route 224 near Carey and Upper Sandusky. Farther south, State Route 95 and State Route 229 deteriorated through Marion, Mount Gilead, and Mount Vernon, while open farmland allowed drifting snow to rapidly reduce visibility.

The Ohio Department of Transportation warned that evening snow showers could briefly overwhelm plowing operations, especially on rural highways and elevated bridges where ice forms faster under gusty winds.

The advisory expires at 10 p.m. Friday, with winds easing later tonight. Any lingering slick spots may persist into early Saturday morning before gradual improvement as snow tapers off.
