WILMINGTON, OH –
Leaves whip across driveways and flags snap in the gusty southwest wind as clouds roll across southwest Ohio this morning. Wind gusts of 30 to 40 mph will persist through early afternoon before easing later today, the National Weather Service reports. Outdoor decorations and light objects could shift or topple, so residents are urged to secure anything that might blow away.
According to the Hazardous Weather Outlook, the next system will bring colder air and snow showers Monday night into Tuesday, signaling the start of early December’s winter pattern. Highs will stay near 35°F to 37°F Monday, dropping below freezing Monday night as rain transitions to snow across parts of southwest and central Ohio, including Wilmington, Dayton, and Columbus.
While accumulations are expected to remain light—around 1 to 2 inches in spots—any snow that sticks could create slick bridges and early commute delays Tuesday morning. Drivers heading along I-71 and U.S. 35 should plan for reduced visibility and icy pavement.
By midweek, skies clear briefly before another weak system approaches Friday, hinting at additional light snow chances into next weekend.
