Cincinnati, OH – A tornado watch is in effect until 10 a.m. EDT Saturday for parts of Ohio, Indiana, and Kentucky as severe storms move through the region. The National Weather Service’s Storm Prediction Center issued Tornado Watch 41, urging residents to remain alert for potential tornadoes and damaging winds.
According to the NWS, the affected areas in Ohio include Auglaize, Butler, Darke, Hamilton, Mercer, Miami, Montgomery, Preble, Shelby, and Warren counties. Indiana counties under the watch include Bartholomew, Boone, Brown, Carroll, Clark, Clinton, Crawford, and several others, including Marion and Monroe. In Kentucky, counties such as Boone, Jefferson, Kenton, Warren, and Hardin are included in the alert.
Residents in these areas should closely monitor weather conditions and be prepared to seek shelter if warnings are issued. The watch remains in effect until mid-morning, with storms potentially bringing strong winds, heavy rain, and isolated tornadoes.
The NWS advises having multiple ways to receive weather alerts, such as weather radios, mobile notifications, and local news updates. If a tornado warning is issued, seek shelter immediately in a sturdy building, away from windows, preferably in a basement or an interior room on the lowest floor.
Authorities continue to monitor the evolving storm system and will provide updates as necessary.
