Cleveland, OH – Much of Ohio and parts of eastern Indiana are under a Dense Fog Advisory until 10 a.m. Tuesday, as the National Weather Service (NWS) offices in Cleveland and Wilmington report widespread visibility reductions.
According to forecasters, visibility has dropped to a quarter mile or less across multiple counties, creating dangerous travel conditions during the morning commute.
The advisory covers a large area, including Lucas, Ottawa, Sandusky, Wood, Hancock, Seneca, Wyandot, Crawford, and Marion counties in northwest and north-central Ohio, as well as Butler, Hamilton, Montgomery, Miami, Shelby, Logan, Mercer, Auglaize, Darke, Champaign, Preble, and Hardin counties in southwest and west-central Ohio. Portions of east-central Indiana, including Wayne, Union, Fayette, Franklin, Ripley, and Dearborn counties, are also included.
Major cities affected are Toledo, Findlay, Marion, Tiffin, Dayton, Cincinnati, Hamilton, Urbana, and Richmond, IN.
The NWS advises motorists to drive slowly, use headlights, and leave extra space between vehicles. Conditions should improve gradually after sunrise, with fog lifting through mid-morning.
