Lucasville, OH – A man was found unresponsive at a Scioto County residence Monday night, prompting a homicide investigation by local and state authorities.

According to the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office, the 911 center received a call at 9:40 p.m. Monday from a man who had gone to check on a friend at a residence on Millers Run Fallen Timber Road. Upon arrival, the caller reportedly discovered his friend unresponsive and possibly deceased.

Sheriff David Thoroughman stated that deputies, detectives, and emergency medical crews were dispatched to the scene. After an initial assessment, authorities allegedly determined the man’s death to be a homicide. The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) and the State Fire Marshal’s Office are assisting with the investigation.

The deceased has been identified as Rocky L. Jordan, 59. No arrests or suspects have been publicly announced at this time.
