Franklin Township, OH – A highway department worker was killed Wednesday in a crash on Bowman Street Road. The crash occurred while the worker, 20-year-old Trenton Gallaway of Lucas, Ohio, was conducting road maintenance.
According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Delana Kunz, 43, of Shelby, Ohio, was driving a 2019 Nissan Rogue when she attempted to pass on the left. Kunz struck Gallaway, who was outside of a highway vehicle at the time. Gallaway died at the scene from his injuries. The crash occurred around 2:24 p.m.
The Mansfield Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating the incident. Local fire departments, the Richland County Sheriff’s Office, and the county coroner assisted at the scene. The crash remains under investigation as authorities work to determine the cause.
