Pittsburgh, PA – A chilly night is ahead for parts of eastern Ohio and the northern panhandle of West Virginia as a Frost Advisory remains in effect from midnight through 9 a.m. Thursday. Temperatures could dip as low as 34 degrees, raising the risk of frost formation across several rural areas.
According to the National Weather Service in Pittsburgh, the advisory includes Carroll, Harrison, Jefferson, and Tuscarawas Counties in Ohio, along with Brooke County in West Virginia. The coldest conditions are expected just before sunrise, when calm winds and clear skies will allow temperatures to drop quickly.
Sensitive outdoor vegetation may be damaged if left unprotected. Residents are urged to cover tender plants, bring potted flowers indoors, and disconnect outdoor hoses to prevent damage from freezing temperatures.
While no freeze warnings are currently posted, colder air could return late in the week as a reinforcing front moves through the Ohio Valley. Residents should monitor updated advisories and be prepared for another round of cold mornings by the weekend.
Warnings remain in effect through Thursday morning.
