Cleveland, OH – A flood watch remains in effect across much of Ohio, including Cleveland, Toledo, and Akron, as excessive rainfall could lead to flash flooding. The National Weather Service issued the watch, which will remain in place until Sunday morning.

According to the National Weather Service, the storm system is expected to bring between 4 and 6 inches of rain across much of the northern and central parts of the state. Counties under the watch include Cuyahoga, Medina, Lorain, and Stark in northeast Ohio, as well as Erie, Richland, and Ashland in the central region. The rainfall could result in flooded rivers, streams, and urban areas, especially those with poor drainage.

The weather service is warning that flash flooding is possible, particularly in low-lying and flood-prone areas. Drivers are urged to use caution as street flooding could disrupt travel. In addition, creeks and rivers may rise rapidly, causing localized flooding.

Residents in affected areas are advised to monitor updates and be prepared to take action if flash flood warnings are issued. For flood safety tips, visit www.weather.gov/safety/flood.
