Greenville, OH – A two-vehicle crash at the intersection of U.S. Route 127 and State Route 705 claimed the life of a Darke County woman Saturday evening and sent another driver to the hospital.
According to the Darke County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded around 7:12 p.m. to the crash along with multiple agencies including the Darke County Accident Reconstruction Team, Ohio State Highway Patrol, and local fire departments.
Investigators reported that a 2006 Ford F-150, driven by Kathleen Forwerck, 62, of Celina, was traveling westbound on State Route 705 when she failed to yield at a stop sign. Her vehicle collided with a northbound 2023 Ford F-450 driven by Candace Muir, 35, of Waynesfield.
Forwerck was pronounced deceased at the scene from her injuries, deputies said. Muir was transported by EMS to Coldwater Hospital for treatment. The extent of her injuries has not been released.
Authorities said the crash remains under investigation.
