Wilmington, Ohio – Light snow will continue through the day Tuesday across parts of Ohio and eastern Indiana, potentially creating challenging travel conditions despite minimal accumulation.

According to the National Weather Service in Wilmington, snow is expected to remain light, with little accumulation anticipated. However, recent cold temperatures may allow snow to stick to untreated roads, bridges, and elevated surfaces, increasing the risk of slick spots.

Areas covered by the statement include portions of eastern Indiana such as Wayne, Fayette, and Union counties, along with a large section of central and western Ohio. Ohio counties affected include Darke, Miami, Champaign, Clark, Madison, Franklin, Preble, Montgomery, Greene, Pickaway, and Fairfield counties.

Cities potentially impacted include Richmond and Connersville in Indiana, as well as Greenville, Troy, Piqua, Urbana, Springfield, London, Columbus, Dayton, Kettering, Beavercreek, Xenia, Washington Court House, Circleville, Lancaster, and Pickerington.

While snowfall totals are expected to remain light, the National Weather Service notes that even small amounts of snow can lead to reduced traction when combined with cold pavement temperatures. Travel conditions may vary significantly over short distances.

Drivers are advised to use caution, reduce speed, and allow extra travel time, particularly during peak travel periods. Pedestrians should also be alert for slick sidewalks and parking lots.

Conditions are expected to gradually improve once snow tapers off and road treatment efforts take effect, but patchy slick spots may persist through the day in untreated areas.
