Columbus, OH – A major drug investigation led to the seizure of cocaine, crack cocaine and thousands of dollars in suspected drug proceeds during two raids in Columbus this week.

According to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, detectives with the Specialized Tactics & Investigative Narcotics Group (STING) executed residential search warrants Monday in the 1700 block of Bryden Road and the 3100 block of Pontiac Street.

Deputies reported recovering approximately 1,370 grams of suspected cocaine, 52.1 grams of suspected crack cocaine and more than $18,000 in suspected drug trafficking proceeds. Investigators said the money was seized from the Bryden Road home.

Fred Thompson, 34, was taken into custody and charged with first-degree felony drug possession, authorities said. Investigators noted additional charges are expected as the case moves forward.

The multi-agency STING task force includes detectives from the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, Madison County Sheriff’s Office and the Upper Arlington Police Department. Monday’s operation was led by an officer from the Upper Arlington Police Department.

Officials said the bust highlights the importance of coordinated law enforcement efforts to curb drug trafficking in Franklin County. Authorities emphasized that the task force remains focused on disrupting high-level drug operations and enhancing public safety in the region.
