Cleveland, OH – Motorists across northern and central Ohio are urged to take extra caution this morning due to dense fog reducing visibility to as low as half a mile in some areas. The fog, expected to persist until shortly after daybreak, will create rapidly changing conditions, especially along major roadways and through rural areas.
According to the National Weather Service, impacted counties include Wood, Sandusky, Hancock, Seneca, Wyandot, Crawford, Richland, Marion, Morrow, and Knox in the north, as well as Hardin, Mercer, Auglaize, Logan, Union, and Delaware in the central region. Drivers in these areas should be prepared for sudden visibility drops and adjust speeds accordingly. Low-beam headlights are recommended if encountering fog.
This fog advisory is expected to lift by mid-morning as daylight temperatures rise and dissipate the moisture in the air. However, until then, motorists are advised to slow down and remain alert for sudden changes in visibility, particularly along I-75 and other major highways.
