Ohio Deputies Halt Wrong-Way Driver in Dramatic Pursuit

Franklin County, OH – An early morning traffic stop on West Broad Street turned into a high-speed pursuit involving a wrong-way driver.

The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office reported that at approximately 4:00 AM, a deputy attempted to pull over a vehicle in the 3900 block of West Broad Street. However, the female driver sped off, leading deputies on a chase that saw the vehicle entering the interstate traveling in the wrong direction.

According to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, a PIT-certified deputy successfully stopped the vehicle at the junction of I-71 Northbound and I-70 Eastbound, despite the dangerous circumstances. During the pursuit, passengers were seen throwing objects out of the car.

Authorities revealed that the vehicle had four occupants, three of whom had aggravated felony drug warrants. The investigation is ongoing, and charges are pending.
