Wilmington, OH – A fresh push of cold air will settle across much of Ohio tonight, keeping daytime highs stuck in the 30s both today and again on Friday, according to the National Weather Service in Wilmington.

Forecasters say a second shot of cold air will move in late Thursday, sending wind chills into the 20s overnight and reinforcing the chilly pattern that has settled over the region for Thanksgiving week. High temperatures Thursday will hover in the mid–30s for most locations, including Dayton, Columbus, Springfield, and the northern Cincinnati metro.

The colder push of air may also generate flurries and light snow showers, especially along and north of the I-70 corridor. While accumulation is not expected, brief bursts of snow may reduce visibility at times for drivers Thursday evening. Areas such as Marysville, Delaware, London, Urbana, and parts of central Ohio stand the best chance of seeing flakes.

Friday will be colder than today, with highs again stuck in the low to mid-30s across southwest and central Ohio. Skies will remain mostly cloudy through the early morning before gradually improving later in the afternoon. Winds will stay light but will contribute to wind chills remaining below freezing for much of the day.

The extended forecast shows a slow warming trend beginning over the weekend, though temperatures are expected to remain below normal for several days.

Residents are encouraged to bundle up, plan for extended cold, and watch for slick spots early Friday if flurries collect on bridges or untreated surfaces.
