Cleveland, Ohio – Ohioans will enjoy a classic summer day Wednesday as sunny skies and low humidity push afternoon temperatures into the mid-80s, especially near Lake Erie’s western basin.

According to the National Weather Service Cleveland, high temperatures will range from 81°F to 86°F across northern Ohio, with overnight lows dipping into the comfortable low 60s. The warmest readings are expected close to the lakeshore, while inland areas may cool more rapidly after sunset.

In Lake Erie’s surf zone, calm marine conditions are expected from Maumee Bay to Geneva-on-the-Lake. Water temperatures will reach the mid-70s in the western basin and the mid-60s farther east. Officials report a low risk of rip currents today, though beachgoers should note that the UV index will be very high, making sunscreen and hydration essential.

From Conneaut to Vermilion, Wednesday offers ideal beach and boating weather — but caution is still urged during peak UV hours between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. Residents should limit prolonged sun exposure and wear protective clothing.

Clear skies will continue into tonight with cooler temps. No advisories are in place, but residents should monitor updated beach conditions and lake advisories through the Fourth of July holiday.
