Oakland, TN – Bank Robbed at Gunpoint, Suspect Fleeing in Jeep Wrangler

Oakland, TN – The Bank of Fayette County was robbed earlier today at approximately 10:20 a.m. at its location on Highway 64 in Oakland. Police say the suspect, who was waiting in the parking lot for tellers to bring out cash drawers for the ATM, approached the tellers when they arrived. The suspect, described as a male wearing all black with a ski mask, demanded money at gunpoint. He followed the tellers’ commands and fled the scene in a black Jeep Wrangler, heading southbound on Highway 196.

No injuries were reported during the robbery. Authorities confirm that the FBI’s Task Force is involved in the investigation.

According to the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office, the suspect is described as a male with a thin build, wearing a black ski mask, a black long-sleeve shirt, and blue jeans. The suspect’s vehicle is a black four-door Jeep Wrangler Rubicon with a hard top.

In an update from the police, flock cameras are being utilized to track the suspect’s movements. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are asking anyone with information to contact FCSO Dispatch at 901-465-3456 and request to speak to an Oakland officer.

Residents are urged to remain vigilant and report any relevant information to law enforcement.
